How to Create Dynamic Filters

by Georgia Bogert in April 8th, 2022

Whether it be for day-to-day maintenance or broader data analysis, it’s essential to be able to group your data based on time and date. Airboxr’s filter feature allows you to create dynamic ranges that help you avoid sifting through piles of data to identify patterns and trends.

Dynamic filters specify a range of data relative to the current date or time of search. Rather than using a static range to isolate data from a particular week (e.g. 01/01/2022 - 07/01/2022), dynamic filters will automatically select data based on the ranges you apply.

These dynamic ranges can be customized to your needs. Put these filters to work and save yourself time and energy combing through months of data for the answers you need.

We’ll show you how to filter for these dynamic ranges:

Use our Cheat Sheet to see how to set these filters at a glance.

Getting started

Launch the Airboxr add on and select your desired data source. When selecting columns, select Date (or the equivalent column on your spreadsheet) and continue to the next page. Under the Filter section you can create dynamic ranges to apply to your data.

To filter for Last 7 Days

To analyze data from the Last 7 Days,

  1. Select Date from the “Column” drop down menu
  2. From the “Operation” menu, select Previous
  3. From the “Range” menu, select 7
  4. From the “Select Period” menu, select Days

This process can be repeated and altered based on the data you wish to procure

To filter from Today Only

To analyze data from Today only,

  1. From the “Column“ menu, select Date
  2. From the “Operation” menu, select Current

To filter from Yesterday Only

To analyze data from Yesterday only,

  2. From the “Operation” menu, select Previous
  3. From the “Range” menu, select 1
  4. From the “Select Period” menu, select Days

To filter from the Last 30 Days

To analyze data from the Last Month,

  1. From the “Column” menu, select Date
  2. From the “Operation” menu, select Previous
  3. From the “Range” menu, select 30
  4. From the “Select Period” menu, select Days
